Since May 2016, a constant strong wind and intense rainstorm hit Sri Lanka, and triggered flood and debris-flow, which affected the whole Sri Lanka rapidly. About one hundred people died and more than 500 thousand people were affected. After the disaster, the Ministry of Commerce, together with the related departments, launched related work under the inter-ministerial working mechanism of foreign humanitarian assistances at the earliest time, studied and formulated the plan to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka to combat the flood. China will, according to the development of the disaster and the demands of Sri Lanka, provide assistance to Sri Lanka, and spare no efforts to help Sri Lanka fighting against the flood.
